Billie Eilish may have retired her signature green hair, but it looks like she’s still rocking the hue as it features on her upcoming new collaboration with the Jumpman Brand.
Last week, Billie announced the long-awaited partnership on Instagram, sharing that she designed two styles of Air Jordans for the collab: a pair of Air Jordan 1 KO and a pair
of Air Jordan 15.
The collab shows a monochromatic “Ghost Green” colorway like pistachio green pair of Jordan 1 KOs that glow in the dark and a pair of mushroom-colored Jordan 15s — both of which will be 100% vegan, like Eilish herself, and made up of more than 20% recycled material.
The AJKO collab is dressed on a Volt green silhouette that glows in the dark. The leather upper receives a padded look with tonal double-stitched details throughout and this will be seen with Eilish in her signature stick-figure Blohsh logo appears on the tongue tag along with her name stamped on the footbed. The offset person logo which she drew when she was 14, was been
featured on much of her past merchandise.
The 15s on the other hand, goes on a tonal light tan palette giving each of its fighter jet-inspired leather stitched panels a militaristic finish. The structure is premium, but her design is simple and tonal. Buttery leathers providing the bulk of the upper, profiling the sides of the pair in a lineal quilted fashion. color-matched mesh tongues, laces, soles, and heel panels from the all-beige
base, though there is an appearance of black on the lateral Jumpman tag, co-branded insoles, and Billie’s “Blohsh” logo at the tongue inner.
The tight rides on the rubberized heel supply an interesting contrast with the wider ridges on the forefoot and midfoot, and “23 – 6 – 15” appears on the heel as well, a nod to Michael Jordan‘s jersey number, NBA championships and 15th model.
Even Tinker Hatfield thinks as it is the worst J’s design on the Air Jordan signature line but the California based singer-songwriter thinks otherwise. “I love the 15s more than any other shoe in the world … people f*cking hate that shoe and it’s my favorite … I love things that people hate.
In the past, Eilish has partnered with Jordan Brand to unveil new colorways of retro Jordans, including the “Bordeaux” Nike Air Jordan 3. Jordan Brand VP of Footwear Gentry Humphrey has also commented on a potential collaboration in the past, saying: “You see us doing things with folks like Aleali May, you see us, gonna be doing some things with folks like Billie Eilish.”
It’s a no surprise that the singer apparently let slip that a more concrete collaboration would be coming when she appeared on Complex Sneaker Shopping in 2019.
The Billie Eilish collaboration was first announced to be released on September 9 but now, the two shoe collabs will initially launch on September 27 on store.billieeilish.com, followed by a SNKRS release on September 30.
