Nike Dunk Low “Seoul” Release Date: August 12th, 2021 Korea exclusive

South Korea’s affection for Nike is one that’s rarely reciprocated by the brand elsewhere in the world. Despite the Swoosh being loved the world over, Nike continues to deliver special-edition kicks for the East-Asian nation often thwart with nationalistic pride. From Speciall edition Air Force 1s for their national Football teamto a wild Pollen rise regional exclusive to the famed Air Jordan 3 “Seoul” — it’s enough to make this Aussie jealous (at least we got the Prestos, right?) Now Nike will be honoring the nation again, this time on a special city-themed Nike Dunk Low “Seoul” for the Summer.

Akin to 2018’s Air Jordan 3 “Seoul,” the forthcoming pair features the Taegukgi (태극기) on the tongue (left shoe). “NIKE” is spelled phonetically on the upper heel panels, with the remainder of the sneaker indulging in a predominantly “White/Black” color palette. As if its nod to South Korea wasn’t obvious enough with the country’s flag and hangul characters, the Dunk Low also boasts alternating red and blue flair across its profile swooshes and outsoles, the latter components sporting a semi-translucent finish. Unlike a previously-seen Air Presto, the brand’s latest ode to the cultural and technological powerhouse forgoes any image of the Siberian tiger, its national animal, in favor of a simple and straightforward arrangement.

This ““Seoul” offering of the Nike Dunk Low comes dressed in a color blocking resembling the South Korean flag – which appears on the left tongue. The shoe features a White leather base with Black overlays and mismatching Red and Blue Swoosh logos and translucent outsoles. Finishing off the design are Korean characters in the rear atop a White midsole.
