Trek Domane SLR 7 P1 review Trek’s fourth-generation Domane SLR 7 P1 brings much lower weight and a more aerodynamic design to the frame and fork compared to the previous Domane SLR 6. While previous generations have focused the design on smoothing rough terrain, this fourth iteration brings the bike very much back to the world of racing. IsoSpeed has gone from the front end, and the system at the rear has been redesigned – simplified and above all lightened. This is combined with a wheel and tyre package that now does the heavy lifting when it comes to comfort. The Trek Domane SLR 7 P1 has a sprightly feel that makes it a formidable companion if your idea of a good ride is dawn-til-dusk mileage interspersed with fast, exciting sections and steady social recovery miles.

According to Bennetts et al. the Fastest Bike in the whole world is.....(drum roll please) 1. Kawasaki Ninja H2/R Claimed peak power: 322 bhp Estimated dry weight: 193 kg Power/weight: 1.585 bhp/kg The king is dead… long live the king. Last time out the astonishing, £49,000, supercharged H2/R came out top and, although the competition is closing in, it remains there today – just. Kawasaki set out to produce the world’s most powerful production machine and it achieved just that. In full bore, track only ‘R’ trim, the Kawasaki is claimed to produce a whopping 306bhp, rising to 322bhp with ram air effect. That, combined with a lightweight, tubular steel trellis chassis (although that 193 dry figure is a guesstimate based on its published 216kg wet figure) is what keeps it on top. If you’re going to quibble about its legality, the road legal H2 Carbon (£28,500) produces 240bhp with a heftier 215kg estimated dry weight although that would leave it outside the top 10 here…

A PG Bugatti urban bike!? Whaaaaat! Nominally, the PG Bugatti town bike we spotted at Eurobike in 2017 is actually for sale, but it's a more-than-slightly-bonkers £35,000. And that's for the base model; custom versions run up to £69,000. It's claimed to be the lightest urban bike ever, at just 5kg thanks to high-zoot components like the Lightweight Meilenstein wheels. Just the thing to go with your two million quid car.

What are the most expensive bicycles around the world! Coming in first place is the Trek Butterfly Madone which costs around a whopping $500,000! You can definitely buy a good sports car with that price tag. This bicycle is an artwork by Damien Hirst and it was bought at an auction for that price. Although it’s beautiful, some animal rights activists called it barbaric due to the fact that the bike utilized real natural wings from butterflies. This Butterfly Madone was sold at an auction to raise funds for the Lance Armstong Foundation.

Hmmm I always wondered what the most used bike was. A mountain bike or a city bike, a road bike or a cruiser?… Mountain bikes are the most widely used bicycle type. It was designed for traversing forests and rougher or mountainous terrains. Its construction differs from a typical bicycle in many ways. The most noticeable of these differences are the inclusion of suspension on the frame and fork, larger knobby tires, more durable heavy-duty wheels, more powerful brakes, and lower gear ratios, which are needed for steep gradients and better traction.

From the company that brought us the Commuter Suit, now comes the Commuter Blazer and Chino pant. Well-tailored, these pieces can be worn as a suit or separately. These pieces stretch, repel water and stains, and dry quickly allowing you to bike to work, travel, and remain active while maintaining the put-together look you’ve worked so hard to achieve.

THE TOP 3 FASTEST ROAD BIKES IN THE WORLD, ACCORDING TO STRAVA Strava’s strength is in its scale: more than 50 million athletes tracking where they’ve gone and how fast they went there. Together with Strava, looking at every cycling activity in 2019 globally, we dug through 9.1 billion kilometres of data to bring you this list of the 20 fastest road bikes in the world. For clarity’s sake, I’ve presented the below as the top 20 distinct models, to remove duplicates of slightly-differently-named bikes. Those are noted in the right-hand column, along with their usually – but not always – similar median speeds. Ranking Bike Median speed (km/h) Median speed (mph) Similar models and median (km/h) 1 Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 25.3 15.7 Canyon Aeroad (same speed) 2 Ridley Noah SL 25.1 15.6 Ridley Noah – 24.6 km/h 3 Specialized S-Works Venge 25.0 15.5 Venge Pro – 24.8, Venge – 24.8, S-Works Venge – 24.7
