Air Jordan 12 Low “25 Years in China” Though it may be hard to fathom given the nation’s undying love for the Jumpman, Jordan Brand has only been retailing in china since 1997. The first silhouette to hit the shores was the Air Jordan 12 — and it was right at the peak of Michael Jordan’s career. Over the years, the brand has celebrated the model’s link to the nation through special regional exclusives, with another on the way for the 25th anniversary of the brand’s (and model’s) presence in China. This special-edition Air Jordan 12 Low “25 Years in China” looks fairly familiar, as it borrows the OG Taxi colors, and dresses it with a celebratory twist. Similar to that seen on the accompanying Legacy 312 Low, this too features iridescent detailing across the mudguard and metallic silver rear detail that honors the anniversary. Elsewhere, the pair remains relatively reserved, with lightly tumbled white leathers and black accenting filling out the remainder of the release.

Now joining Rui Hachimura’s frequently-delayed collaboration is this ladies-exclusive Air Jordan 8 “Taxi”, which was officially revealed by the brand during today’s SNKRS Live event. Clad in predominately in premium buttery black leather, the pair works through it’s typical perforated upper layer and smooth overlays. The back end is fully encased in leather, too, with neoprene tongue and nylon liners also adorning the dark hue. From there, things abruptly change with striking Taxi and Opti Yellow hits at the tongue, Velcro strap, midfoot guard, and midsoles, before returning to black outsoles to round out the design.

SOULGOODS x Nike SB Dunk High SOULGOODS may not be a household name stateside, but the Beijing-based imprint has been using its affiliation with NIKE, Inc. to cultivate a presence outside of its home city Recently, the team lent its creative vision to the Nike SB Dunk High, a silhouette that’s recently emerged in handfuls of compelling styles courtesy of independent skate shops from across the globe. For its first-ever take on the late Peter Moore’s 37-year-old design, SOULGOODS abandoned the bold, all-over print of its Converse collaboration from May 2021 in favor of an understated olive green and black ensemble. The crew’s “灵魂虎” (Soul Tiger) graphic is embroidered onto the lateral heel, and stamped on both the top of the tongue and sock-liners. Although the all-black mesh tongue (and surrounding panels) and sole units differentiate the Chinese label’s Nike SB offering, the most distinguishing factor on the pair is the “FROM BEIJING TO THE WORLD” text placed on the inside of the collar, showcasing SOULGOODS’ national pride and plans to leave its mark on the world.
