Travis scott and House of Dior in Paris’ capsule collaboration, Cactus Jack Dior, will hit retail on July 13, The skate wear-inspired line will include sneakers, backpacks and men’s ready to wear. The pairing was initially paused following the Astroworld tragedy, but the collaboration will now be launched. Scott recently performed at the Billboard Music Awards and he will be performing in the coming months in Las Vegas, London, and São Paolo. The rapper also announced he would be awarding $1 million in scholarships to HBCU students to help those in need graduate.
Scott had initially lost the major branding deal in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy, with Dior announcing that it was calling off a collaboration in December 2021 that was due out in 2022.
The pair have previously Shown in Diors Mens uploading a video that shows the B713 in various official colorways. Dior has put the spotlight on just two so far, one in tan/cream/lime green and another in brown/cream/blue.
Travis Scott and Kim Jones are both known as people who draw inspiration from the past, infiltrating their work with nostalgia. The same goes for the B713, which as HYPEBEAST has previously declared, gears towards something between Lavnin meets eS meets DC SKATE sneakers. The shape is bulbus, with a rounded toe layered in premium suede creating a mudguard that works its way all around the shoe.
Perforated mesh has been used for the underlayer of the mid-panel, before leather then sits on top, it too following a curvaceous wave. Here, a “CD” eyelet can be found towards the top of the placket, while another “CD” emblem graces the tongue. A custom Cactus Jack Dior logo tag sits on the lateral rear-quarter and once more on the heel where it is debossed, positioned neatly above the final “CD” emblem that’s embedded into the skate-esque shoes’ sole unit.
