Editor's Notes: Last year's Netflix documentary, The Last Dance, took us on a journey from playoffs to championships, through to Michael Jordan's final game. It was an emotional rollercoaster that gave the spectacle of his games new life. Generations that grew to love the star through his signature Nike sneakers were afforded an opportunity to learn not only the history behind the legend but the moments that inspired countless colorways.
Although Jordan was, of course, the star of the show, the documentary also shed light on the teammates and coaches that elevated his play. The method behind the madness of it all was Phil Jackson. Nicknamed "Zen Master," Jackson was a practicing Buddhist and brought the teachings of the religion into the game, bringing a balanced approach to the edge of competitive sport.
With the "Zen Master" Air Jordan 4, Nike pays tribute to Jordan and Jackson's close friendship and their unforgettable career together. The silhouette appears to be highly conceptual and unlike any Jordan 4 in recent history. Through the mockups provided by SneakerFiles, it's clear to see that the sneaker's upper will have a serene, galaxy-like finish that is complemented with monochrome accents.
Dressed in an Amethyst Wave, Bright Crimson, Black, and Cement Grey color scheme. While no leaked photos have surfaced, this Air Jordan 4 is expected to feature a unique graphic upper covered in tie-dye-like vibes. Other details will include“Zen Master”printed on the inside of the tongue, translucent wing eyelets, Black netting, and translucent heels with a Black Jumpman. Black tongue labels with a Red Jumpman atop a Grey and Black rubber outsole completes the design.
Look for the Air Jordan 4 Retro "Zen Master" to release on March 2022 at selected retailers such as Titan 22/Park Access via Cop&Rock/Jordan Manila and Nike SNKRS. The retail price tag is set at ₱9,445 pesos.
