Ready for Tip-off? MASSIVE NBA RULE CHANGE
Fouls and free-throws are a big part of the game of basketball. For years, analysts and fans have called out the NBA and its players by taking advantage of foul calls by the offensive player by creating unnecessary contact, the NBA has termed it as non-basketball moves. The NBA heard the call, and they are answering.
The official NBA Twitter page has now tweeted.
Before the 2021-2022 Season starts, the official NBA twitter page has tweeted a series of videos that explains different types of movements made by offensive players to draw fouls.
The first "non-basketball" move is done when a shooter launches/leans into the defender at an abnormal angle when shooting in order to create contact. This will now be an offensive foul as stated in the graphic below. The call may vary depending on the abruptness of the movement of the offensive player is within the marginal limits set by the League.

The second "non-basketball" move is done when the offensive player "veers off" or suddenly changes his direction into the path of the defender. This will be an offensive foul if the movement is more than marginal and affects the defensive player's ability to defend the play. The call may vary depending on the abruptness of the movement of the offensive player is within the marginal limits set by the League.

The third is when the offensive player overtly extends a part of his body such as his legs or arms into the defender to initiate more than marginal contact, this will be an offensive foul. The last clip posted by the NBA shows a "non-basketball" move by an offensive player that uses his off-arm to initiate more than marginal contact with the defender impeding the defenders ability to contest the play and will be called an offensive foul this season. The call may vary depending on the abruptness of the movement of the offensive player is within the marginal limits set by the League.
