It's no secret that PJ Tucker is as lucky as it gets this 2021. After coming from a disgruntled Houston Rockets team to Milwaukee Bucks and winning the NBA Championship with FMVP Giannis Antetokoumpo, then signing a two-year, $15 million deal with the Heat, there is no stopping "The Sneaker King" on top of his game.
Anthony Leon Tucker Jr., 36, also signed a multi year six figure endorsement deal with Nike, he seems to be solidified and virtually unchallenged on his reign. He packed a total of 110 pairs when the NBA decided to continue the 2019-2020 season for his stay in the Disney World Bubble.
He also partnered with eBay to unveil his sneaker loft, where he stores all his sneaker collection that ranges from 700 to almost 1,000 pairs.
He has collected nearly 5,000 pairs of sneakers which he spent the last 15 years using various mediums to purchase and acquire sneakers.
In an interview, PJ said the eBay has allowed him to find and purchase some sneakers that he did not realize he needed. He also noted that one of his favorite footwear was Kobe Bryant's sneakers. He said the designs were the best shoes for basketball ever made and that the NBA legend understood the functionality of basketball sneakers.
He also created a colorway by honoring Kobe last year with the release of the Retro Nike 5 Protro sneaker and a collaboration with Dolce and Gabbanna to signify his status as the Ultimate Drip King.
His recent purchase, the one where Devin Booker teased him during the 2021 NBA Finals, the Undefeated Kobe 4. Booker commented on his rare Kobe 4s "I ain't seen PJ with these". After 2 months, the sneaker king searched and tagged Booker with "You sure Lil Bro?". Don't challenge him as he will search to buy sneakers everywhere, anywhere.
Ask about his top 5 sneakers, Kobe 4s and 5s, Air Max's and the Nike Yeezy 2 and the most expensive one came upon winning his first title with the Bucks as he commissioned a diamond-encrusted Air Jordan 1 with the help from The Shoe Surgeon along with Jason of Beverly Hills. Priced at roughly $250,000 USD, the sneakers see 2,020 brilliant D color white diamonds set into 150 grams of 14k white gold. Taking approximately 100 hours to complete, the total carat weight of both pairs adds up to 32.74 ct.
And his favorites? The Jordans included a pair of the unreleased Air Jordan 11 "OVO", an original Air Jordan 1 from 1985 with the original tags ("Year I was born and the first pair of sneakers I ever owned") and the Eminem x Air Jordan 4 "Encore".
No doubt PJ is the NBA's most notable sneakerhead. And not only is he regarded as having
basketball"s best collection, avid collectors also look at him as one of their own.
Who do you think can dethrone him as the Sneaker King?
