Travis Scott x Air Max 1 “Wheat”
Style Code: DO9392-700
Release Date: 2021
It's a no brainer that everything Travis Scott touch turns into gold. From his McDonald's endorsement, to Reese's Puffs cereals, to Fortnite and PlayStation, and even his own Cacti Hard Seltzer, it is a sure-fire hit.
After recently dropping two ultra-hyped Air Jordan 1s last month, La Flame is back on the drawing books with five Air Max 1s.
One of the five colorway, "Wheat", is centered around accents of light blue, then mixed up the branding along the tongue. Channeling Travis' love on the browns, a translucent brown outsole and dark brown overlays stand out amongst a tan upper with light brown accents, matches pink eyelets and back heel branding, which seems to flaunt the rapper's nickname "Cactus Jack".
The signature reversed Swoosh branding is of course present with dark teal hues descend upon the thick rope laces and ribbon eyelets - the latter of which extends all the way to the back to act as a pull tab. Rounding up the design of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 "Wheat" are printed insoles and matching Air unit-assisted midsoles paired with contrasting treaded rubber outsoles with "Cactus Corporation" embellished and decked out in the same pattern that you'd find on the inner layer of the Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low from last year.
The construction features a number of mountaineering-inspired elements, such as the patterned webbing and rope laces. It’s in palette that the pair sets itself apart, subverting the earth tones of its predecessors for a much brighter yellow arrangement.
However, the new collab is shrouded by controversy, the controversial feature here is the blocked-out Air bubble which is one of the Air Max 1's define features. This has been colored over in a complementary yellow hue that's unlike anything we've seen before. (Yeah!, Yeah!, we all know Air
Max should have that iconic bubble heel).
The Air Max 1 collab will also set to drop alongside four other colorways including "Baroque Brown", "Grey Haze, "Off Noir, and "Saturn Gold".
You don't want to miss to cop this new La Flame collabs which is expected to release sometime this holiday season.
