Unveiled on January 24 with the help of super friends LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, the Pantone 1837-accented sneaker has been uber divisive.

For starters, the pair’s ₱21,195.00 price tag has led some netizens to completely write the historic collaboration off.

Other spectators, however, accepted the mark up with no problem, but took to social media to express their disappointment in the Tiffany Air Force 1‘s simplicity.

A select few even criticized the project’s lack of credibility within the sneaker and streetwear space – especially when considering Tiffany & Co. didn’t want to be associated with Diamond Supply Co.’s luxurious Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration from 2005.

Regardless of where you stand on the matter, Nike’s partnership with the New York City institution further cements the union between sportswear and high fashion.

The two-tone and silver-adorned Air Force 1 might not deliver the same hype as Nicky Diamonds’Dunk from 18 years ago, but it’ll surely mark a moment in time for both a different generation and the future of sneaker culture-at-large.
