Kevin Durant’s annual “Aunt Pearl” editions have produced some of the most sought-after sneakers in his 15-year-old signature line. Still, more importantly, they have continued to raise awareness for the perils of breast cancer, and how it can affect one-in-three people the world over. The series originated back in 2011 with the KD 4, and has been an ever-present fixture of his signature series ever since. For 2023, you would expect to see the theme hit the KD 16, but as Sole Retriever reports, it may not be the only awareness-raising release from Durant on the way, with the Nike KD 3 “Aunt Pearl” expected to hit shelves in the tail end of the year.

As has been the case with releases past, For the thirteenth time, Durant will use his platform to both honor his late Aunt, and to drive cancer research funding through a partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Though specifics on the pair’s presentation remain unconfirmed, it is expected that the pair will arrive in tonal pink and white hues, as well as an abundance of special callouts to Durant’s late aunt and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
