NBA legend Gregg Popovich to be in attendance in EuroBasket group stage NBA legend Gregg Popovich will be in attendance in the group stage of the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket (September 1-18). The legendary head coach of the San Antonio Spurs and 5-time NBA champion arrived in Milano on Tuesday and will stay in the city until the end of Group C games (September 2-8). Following his arrival, Gregg Popovich joined Armani Milano’s training session and met with Ettore Messina, who is the president and head coach of the Italian club. Popovich and Messina worked together for five years in San Antonio (2014-2019). Group C of the EuroBasket consists of Croatia, Greece, Estonia, Ukraine, Great Britain and hosts Italy. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the star player of the group while the clash between the Italians and the Greeks will be played in front of a sold-out crowd at Mediolanum Forum on Saturday, September 3rd.
