Nike LeBron 18 Low “Wile E. Coyote vs Roadrunner” Releases July 16th
NIKE
Since debuting earlier this year, the Nike LeBron 18 Low has seen significantly more action on the collaborative front than its mid-cut counterpart. While the latter has focused more on repurposing retro colorways, the Low has seen link-ups from long-time Nike collaborators in atmos, as well as a debut drop from Mimi Plange. For the King’s feature film Space Jam: A New Legacy, the Swoosh will be serving up several new propositions of the silhouette, including this Nike LeBron 18 Low “Wile E. Coyote vs Roadrunner”
Ditching the split-blocked uppers seen on other releases, this pair presents two different designs across both left and right feet. The left looks to the ever-hungry Wile E. Coyote with hues of light tan and brown to mimic the creature’s fur. ACME rocket-inspired Swooshes serve a distinct callout to the series, as to does the coyote’s “YEEEOWWW” wording on the lateral Air support — one of the very few words uttered in their long-standing rivalry. Road Runner’s right foot arrives in his signature blue feather hues, while its lateral Swoosh is derived from the quick runner’s dust clouds. Special embroidered motifs at the tongue inner are personalized for the two characters, while Tune Squad tongues, cartoonized King James logos in the rear, and graphic insoles featuring the two titular characters complete the design.
There’s also a second, special-edition release that arrives accompanied by a themed Xbox Wireless Controller, which brings the elements of the shoe together—representing the aftermath of a chaotic Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner encounter.
