Nike previously acknowledged this connection when British retailer JD Sports released a red-accented Air Max 95 in 2015 as a nod to Liverpool FC. The JD Sports release also featured a blue pair in homage to Everton FC, another Liverpool-based team. Looking ahead, Nike has ambitious plans for the Air Max 95 in 2025, marking its 30th anniversary. The brand intends to reissue the shoe with an updated "big bubble" treatment, enhancing the iconic cushioning to mirror the original design more closely. Nike has employed similar updates on other classics like the Air Max 1 in recent years. Additionally, expect collaborations and a special "City Pack" for the Air Max 95 next year.
