For Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2023 collection, creative director Anthony Vaccarello chose Morocco as the show location, leaving a strong mark on the brand's founder Yves Saint Laurent's 70-year history.
Yves Saint Laurent's signature flamboyant aesthetic emerges in the form of Grain de Poudre fabrics, kaftans, low-rise velvet pants and more as the desert sun slowly sets into the dune backdrop.
When it comes to accessories, YSL pays homage to masculine glamour, with black patent leather pumps, flats, knee-high boots and ankle boot styles, leather sandals with the brand's signature 'YSL' brass logo and bejeweled satin Slippers appear together.
The show was inspired by Paul Bowles' 1949 novel The Sheltering Sky, so creative director Anthony Vaccarello teamed up with London-based artist and stage designer Es Devlin to design a futuristic "halo" set as the finale of the show .
