Jordan Brand saves their best offerings for the end of the year every year, and 2022 is no exception. What’s more, the Air Jordan 11 will headline the line-up yet again, doing so this time in “Cherry.”

Unlike the silhouette’s prior Retros — “Cool Grey,” “Concord,” “Bred,” etc. — this release isn’t an exact remaster. While the colorway had appeared in 2001 and then again in 2016, it had done so only on the Air Jordan 11 Low. 2022 marks its very first appearance on the shoe’s mid-top trim, which has set many, many records for Nike Inc in the past few years.

Last night, a first look of the shoe has surfaced following its debut last February. And just as the mock-ups indicated, the design is as faithful to the above-mentioned low-top as possible. Patent leathers, of course, dress the mudguard, whose deep red polish glistens subtly against the overhead lighting. Matching Jumpman logos and linings/heel tabs sit adjacent, contrasting the white lace unit and ballistic mesh that builds out the rest of the upper.

Sat atop icy blue bottoms, the “Cherry” is currently expected to release on December 10th at a retail of 10,995

The upcoming AJ11 gives off vibes from theAir Jordan PE "OU" that Blake Griffin wore but the patent leather rand around the sneaker features a brighter red than the Sooner Crimson. A white mesh upper with Cherry Red accents is featured throughout, most notably on the Jumpman on the heel and across the tongue. A white midsole and a translucent outsole finish off the sneaker.
